I recently took part in a Charity No Gi Competition in South Shields, where all proceeds and entry fees go towards the Cain's Dream to walk Fundraiser.
It was a little local comp and similar to an inter-club event, and after turning up on the morning to watch i ended up deciding to enter, all for a good cause and also because i cant just sit and watch, i always feel the need to get involved and give anything a go.
So after no training for a grappling competition, on went the shorts and rash guard and started warming up.
there were 4 ladies all together so we all got put in a open weigh and experience division.
Little Cain was sat at the side of the mat watching every single fight, at the end of the day we were all their that day because of Cain and his Dream to walk again with out pain.
here the link to his page to find out more information about why Sub 7 organised the event for the charity.
Cain is also a massive MMA fan and you always see him at all the local shows ring side cheering everyone on.
If you would like to make a donation to Cain's dream to walk you can do this by following the link here
The ladies divisions were right at the very end and we were itching to get started, after going for a take down in my first fight and then losing to an Arm bar i went away with a bronze medal, i'm happy with the bronze i would of loved to fight again, but i wasn't able to after i get a nice knee to the face and the refs made the decision that i wouldn't fight again.
So over all a great day, good fun, lots of great fights, and a bronze medal and Black eye to take away from it all.
And all for a good cause. :)
